Despite the rainy morning start on Saturday of the celebration weekend (March 23-24) we were able to provide visitors with a look into the life on the tobacco farm.
There were displays about tobacco farming and ironing. Visitors got to meet the family cook and she showed everyone how food was prepared in the fireplace. Yummy! There was also opportunity to learn about some of the herbs that were grown on the farm. Boy did they smell great! Visitors had the opportunity to learn about some of the customs that were put in place when a family member passed away and was buried in the family cemetery.
What a great weekend celebrating Maryland's history!
